Our hero is a warrior who desperately fights against invaders, defeats many alone, but falls victim to the numerical superiority of the enemy’s forces. At the very beginning, we are shown a prologue, during which we learn that an evil genius decides to bring all the free kingdoms of the Amalur world to their knees. One way or another, Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Reckoning looks quite decent, stylish and neat, and the cartoonishness even adorns it, being a pleasant feature of the game.
This style was not to everyone’s liking, and therefore many people voted «audience sympathy» in favor of the eastern competitor. Many critics noted the frankly unfortunate decision of the creators to express the game space in the form of «Warcraft-like», cartoonish and three-dimensional graphics. This year THQ have been on a tear with their remasters, having recently launched SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated and Destroy All Humans!.Unfortunately, comparisons could not be avoided. Perhaps even more surprising than the remasters announcement, THQ also confirmed a brand new expansion – Fatesworm – coming in 2021. THQ Nordic have also confirmed “gameplay refinements” for the revived RPG while cramming in all the DLC and bonuses released after the original game’s 2012 launch. Those extra bytes will account for remastered assets, giving Re-Reckoning a noticeable boost in terms of visual fidelity.
